R. Rauschenberg. 1925-2008

I didn't like all his stuff, especially the goat with the tire wrapped around it, one of his 'combines'. But this work does a pretty good job of evoking the neighborhood. He'll be missed.

Yeah, so about that... I keep meaning to tell you that I read the book and enjoyed it, but I still think I need the Cliff Notes, especially for the chapters with no words in them. I tried to arrive at my own conclusions, but my conclusions were, "I'm confused."

I want to know about the severed heads!

Next time I'm down there you'll have to take me to a museum... or at the very least a Barnes & Noble with a good coffee table art book collection and give me the "Idiot's Guide" lecture in monosyllables. Cuz, you know, what I see there kind of looks like a postcard carousel threw up.

Claire, when it sometimes comes to art, if you aren't confused, you aren't paying attention. Some modern artists are TRYING to mess with your head, and happy to do so. See, you're getting it already.

You have a standing invitation for a museum tour when next you visit. And that goes for anyone else out there crazy enough to visit NYC.
