Well, we’ll be out of town for the week, back next week this time. Going here and later here, and here. Traveling and jet lag just kills our weekly total running mileage, always has.
Well, going across the pond gets one thinking about European runners. They’re not so different, but they have many of the attributes of American runners, but much more so. Yes, we’ll elaborate on that later. Anybody who’s done or seen the NYC Marathon knows all about European runners, there are thousands of them, 40% of the runner total, something like that… they sure do love gritty (and sometimes not so gritty) New York.

If misery truly welcomes company, I can share that my weekly mileage just got killed as well; It is mid-march and we just got hit with an unexpected, wintery mix storm that promises to accumulate up to 6 inches of icy snow. Running is on hold! So wherever you're jet-setting off to, I hope its dry and hotter than hell.
Well, r.b., I went off to the old country (not Busch Gardens), and winter was/is alive and well. A major hailstorm struck Paris on Wednesday afternoon, and it was downright biblical.
Anyway, didn't get much running in, either, so now I'm (over)training to make up for lost mileage.
Be careful out there!
Welcome back from the old county! Enjoy over-training in shorts weather, now and let us know what races you're planning in the near future. I got peer-pressured into the Broad Street Run and I'm a 90 percent yes for a half marathon in Baltimore on may 19th. Care to join me for either? Chicago wants to see the results of a full or a half from the past year(I have neither) or they place you in the back with 45,000 other poor runners. Apparently, if you have a decent finishing time to show, they place you in an A, B, or C corral at the start. Yikes, it makes us sound like a herd of horses or worse, cattle.
